ZAP's (Zinfandel Advocates & Producers) 19th Annual Tasting of Zin was held on January 30, 2010 at Fort Mason in San Francisco. It is the largest tasting of any single variety on earth. Many reviews followed.

We poured a barrel sample of our 2008 Rattlesnake Ridge Zinfandel. We were fortunate to be included in several reviews, and we are gratified that this new vineyard generated so much enthusiasm among wine writers.

Norcalwine.com reviewed 97 wines and included ours among his "Highly Recommended."

Grapelive.com reviewed ZAP and featured our wine among his favorites.

Vinography.com scored our wine among many exemplary producers "with a score around 9"

A Decadent Existence
also ranked us among their favorites. Scroll down to the photo of our temporary home-printed label (It's a barrel sample, so we didn't use a real label.)

Comments about previous vintages:

We had a diner party last night with some people from the museum.  We served your 2004 DHR Zinfandel and some other wines. DHR won the empty bottle test--it was the first one to be finished. Thanks very much. --MM

2003 Dawn Hill Ranch Zinfandel
. After opening the first bottle, I am most glad I took two.  (So is Janet)
What I most appreciated is the balance of flavors without being over-the-top as so many zin and/or cabernet based wines can be in California. A real treat. --JM

It is 5:30 pm and I am drinking a 2002 DHR Zinfandel and it is simply fantastic. Fruity without being overwhelming; a light and so drinkable wine (if I were a critic I would call it “approachable”). --MS

We opened the 2001 DHR Zinfandel last night. Great color, lovely nose and good grip with an intriguing spiciness. Lesley's short review: "delicious." --RVB
